Early Life & Career
Mseleku was born in Soweto, Johannesburg on the 21st of July 1978. After finishing school, he went to study at the National School of Arts (NSA) where he developed an interest in improvisational theatre. His career as a comedian began shortly after graduation when he started performing full-time as part of the sketch comedy group Comedy Cartel. The group quickly became popular throughout South Africa, garnering praise from both critics and fans alike.
In 2006, Mseleku decided to pursue a solo career and released his debut album “The Unhinged African” which was met with critical acclaim. Since then, Mseleku has established himself as one of South Africa’s leading comedians having performed all over the world including at prestigious venues such as The Apollo Theatre in New York City and London’s West End Theatre District . He has also won numerous awards for his work including Best Male Comedian by Savanna Comics Choice Awards 2020 .
